Negers en Negerinnen... #Re-Loaded

Nadat een vriendin mij vorige week vroeg naar de link van het onderstaande verhaal vond ik het weer tijd om deze te re-loaden. Nog een paar weken terug hoorde ik een zwarte vrouw zeggen: "Ik ben een trotse negerin". I shaked my head en dacht bij mezelf. Must be nice, een trotse onreine duivel zijn....

“Kankeraap! Kankerneger! Ik haat Negers” zijn een aantal begrippen die ik vorige week nog naar mijn hoofd gesmeten kreeg van een groep jongens. I was minding my business maar toch vonden deze jongens het nodig om mijn neef en ik uit te schelden voor alles wat je kan relateren aan mijn huidskleur. Toen een van de jongens:  “Ik haat negers” schreeuwde terwijl ik wegliep, kon ik met tranen in mijn ogen alleen maar denken:  “ik haat negers ook. “

 Geachte lezer,

In december 2009 heb ik het onderstaande verhaal voor het eerst geschreven. Omdat ik nog steeds op mijn eigen manier mijn stem wil laten horen tegen het racistische fenomeen Zwarte Piet re-load ik het bericht ongewijzigd voor 4de keer. 

Geweldig, we zijn weer in de befaamde “I Got Money” maand beland! De maand waarin de kredietcrisis ff alleen in Amerika en IJsland heerst en zeer zeker niet in ons koud kikkerlandje de hypotheekrentes en premies beïnvloed! De enige maand van alle 12 dat het verantwoord is om als een compleet verstrooide en labiele idioot te rennen door alle winkels die schreeuwen dat ze tot wel 99% korting hebben, maar mij eigenlijk als een“certified” kip zonder kop behandelen door eerst de prijzen met 230% op te schroeven en daarna de beloofde 99% korting toe te passen.

De enige maand waarin we allemaal weer hopen op een “ white X-mas” en nog ff genieten van het heerlijke Oer-Hollandse weer.

Ja ja, het is weer december.

De meest commerciële maand van het hele jaar!
Persoonlijk mijn favoriete maand en dat komt gewoon omdat ik dan met kerst schaamteloos aanschuif bij mij familie die doorgaans alle 11 maanden slaande ruzie heeft met elkaar maar met kerst natuurlijk “the christmas spirit” hoog in het vaandel hebben staan(door mijn oma erin gestampt) waardoor iedereen toch samen geniet van een heerlijke Surinaamse maaltijd.

Maar precies 20 dagen voor 1ste kerstdag is er nog zo’n uber commerciële feestdag die er hier in Nederland gevierd word.

My mother used to play every single record of this man and I hated it. I was almost forced to listen to Otis every day of the week. At one point I knew all of his songs by heart and moms even caught me singing when she would listen to him. 

I can't thank her enough for introducing me to real soulfull music like his. You instantly feel his emotion in every single word he sings. 

My all time favorite Otis record is "Try a little Tenderness". I was 13 years old screaming along with this song. I had my mother looking at me like I was crazy. I still listen to his music every week. It takes me back to my childhood and makes me think of my mother. 

So when I saw that Jay and Kanye used this track as a sample for their first "Watch the throne"release I was super thrilled.

I have listened to this joint for about 10x times and I couldn't hear Jay or Kanye's verses. The beat had me! After having this on repeat for 50 times I still can't tell you what Kanye and Jay be rapping bout. No wait, that's a lie! Since everybody was calling the paperazzi on themselfs I do know. 

Shoutout to all the producers I have been telling' for years to sample this Otis track! I see you! #Lames!

I'm not knocking nobody's hustle but i'm gettin' sick and tired of all these artists steppin' over to the "European side". We DO NOT wanna hear rappers over dance/house beats. It sells, I know. But most of 'em sound lame to me! 

Just give me bangin' beats and a solid verse and i'm good. Something like this here! I'm a sucker for the "Oh Yeah" beat.
